The proposed study area is approximately 15 miles in length and three miles in width. The study will investigate potential corridors with a goal of identifying a single preliminary corridor measuring 300 to 500 feet in width.

This exhibit shows the projected employment growth over the next thirty years, by Traffic Analysis Zone (TAZ) from 2005 to 2035.   A TAZ is a geographical area that contains census information, such as population, employment, and trip data. TAZ’s can be different sizes depending on the density of the area.

This exhibit shows the projected growth in population over the next thirty years, by TAZ.

This exhibit shows the existing traffic volumes in the year 2005, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

2005 Average Daily Volumes

This exhibit shows the projected traffic in the year 2035.  Where percentages are shown, it means that the traffic will increase by x% over the 2005 volumes.  It is meant to give an indication of what the traffic might be like in 2035.
