The third public meeting was held on July 17, 2007. Pictures from the meeting can be found here. Data presented at the meeting included population and employment forecasts and a no-build traffic model for the year 2035. The traffic model represented traffic conditions under the scenario that no transportation improvement, other than those already planned and programmed, would be built on the east side. Please follow the links below to view the Exhibits presented at the meeting. Please note that due to the large size of the exhibits they may take extra time to download. The exhibits are not meant to be printed on home printers but are best viewed on your computer screen using a free Adobe Acrobat viewer. |

This exhibit shows the projected employment growth over the next thirty years, by Traffic Analysis Zone (TAZ) from 2005 to 2035. A TAZ is a geographical area that contains census information, such as population, employment, and trip data. TAZ’s can be different sizes depending on the density of the area. |

This exhibit shows the projected growth in population over the next thirty years, by TAZ. |

This exhibit shows the projected traffic in the year 2035. Where percentages are shown, it means that the traffic will increase by x% over the 2005 volumes. It is meant to give an indication of what the traffic might be like in 2035. The inputs to the 2035 volumes include the projected 2035 population and employment, trip data, and the planned and programmed projects that are included in the region’s Transportation Improvement Program and the Long Range Transportation Plan. The daily volumes that were shown on the exhibit at the meeting reflected all of these inputs. We have modified the exhibit to easily identify the location and description of the planned and programmed improvements (the data is the same, but the lines are shown a little differently). It should be noted that the Planned and Programmed Improvements, and therefore the 2035 daily volumes, DO NOT include the construction of a new transportation facility on the east side of Bloomington-Normal. |

This exhibit shows the existing traffic volumes in the year 2005, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. |

Public Meeting #3 |

|
The presentation that was made can be found here. After the presentation, small group discussions were held to further review the presented data and gather insight from the community about their vision for transportation in McLean County in 2035. The small groups created a list of key points that are important to the community. The key points made in each small group have been summarized and can be viewed following the link below. (The number of participants expressing the same idea has been indicated in parentheses). |
