The sixth public information meeting for the East Side Highway Corridor Study project was held on February 12, 2008 at Normal Community High School.  The purpose of the meeting was to present the preliminary corridors that will be undergoing a comparative analysis.  The meeting began with a short presentation about the study progress since the last public meeting in September 2007 and what the next steps in the screening process will be.  The engineering team has been working with the Project Study Group (PSG) and the Citizen’s Advisory Group (CAG) to create a range of reasonable alternatives that meet the project’s purpose.

After the presentation, the public was invited to examine the preliminary corridors more closely and submit questions to the engineering team for discussion at the meetings conclusion.  Some of the questions submitted during the meeting can be found along with other questions on this website under Frequently Asked Questions.

The exhibits from the meeting showing preliminary corridors undergoing further screening can be viewed by clicking the links below.  The No-Build alternative is being carried forward for further screening as well, but it cannot be represented graphically.  Please note that the exhibits are in .pdf format and are very large files that will take some time to download.  A version of the exhibit from the meeting, without the aerial drawing behind it, is a smaller file (6 MB) than with the aerial (8 MB).
